With Agilent FLD, Y-axis scaling is not consistent between different FLD models, or Y-axis scaling shows clipped peaks - WKB223567

Article number: 223567

SYMPTOMS

  • The signal height of individual FLD modules may exceed the recommended signal range of 0 – 100 LU; under certain circumstances this can lead to clipped peaks
  • Different FLD modules show different signal heights with identical methods

ENVIRONMENT

  • Agilent ICF v3.0 and above
  • Empower 3 Enterprise
  • Agilent FLD

CAUSE

This is not a problem in general, but it could be inconvenient when operating more than one FLD in the lab.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Both scaling issues can be resolved by optimizing the PMT gain level.

Refer to page 126 of the Agilent 1260 FLD User Manual (G1321-90014 Rev. B) to optimize the PMT gain level.
