• Create a report to compare the spectra of standards and unknowns.

PROCEDURE

If you use the Library Match function, you can overlay the spectra of the standards and the unknowns using the Report objects "Spectra Index Plots" and "Match Plots".
If you do not want to use the Library Match function and are satisfied with comparing side by side on the report, you can display the spectra of the standards and the unknowns using "Match Plots".

The default report method for the PDA is stored in the "PDA Default" project.
Chapter 5 of the Empower 3 PDA Training Text, which can be downloaded from the URL provided in ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, describes the Report.
From  page 5-13 to 14, it describes how to copy the report methods from the "PDA Default" project and the contents of each report method.
There is also an introduction to the PDA report group on page 7-35.

When using the Library Match function, the procedures are as follows.
(1) Create a library and register.
See Empower 3 PDA Training Text page 2-23.
(2) Library Match settings in the processing method.
See Empower 3 PDA Training Text page 2-26.
(3) Sample set processing
(4) Copy the report method "PDA spectra Index Plot" from the PDA Default project.
See Empower 3 PDA Training Text page 5-13.
(5) Preview the result set and specify the report method from (4).
(6) Modify the report method.
On the screen shown in Figure 11, from Empower 3 PDA Training Text page 5-11, if you add to the peak apex and select the Library Match check box,
the spectra of the standards registered in the library are overlaid.
