ANSWER

Support for Empower in a cloud environment began with Empower 3 FR4 and continues.

Waters provided AWS Cloud Formation Templates (CFTs) for a period of time. Waters has removed these CFTs from the Amazon Marketplace.

Waters supports Empower in AWS and Azure cloud environments.

Beginning with Empower 3.6.1, a section in the Installation, Configuration, and Upgrade Guide covers support for Empower in a cloud environment. See document 715007289.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Waters tests and trains its Informatics personnel in deploying Empower using Amazon Web Services. Based on analysis compared to Amazon Web Services, Waters considers that you can deploy Empower using Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services, depending on your corporate policies, geography, or preference. Prior to any migration, a discussion should be had with Waters Professional Services before proceeding.
