SYMPTOMS

• After running the sample for a long time, an error is reported: Insufficient memory, or the database connection is terminated ORA-03135 error

• The software loses the connection; you need to restart the computer again to reconnect

ENVIRONMENT

• Alliance HPLC System

CAUSE

When the physical memory is low (for example, only 16G) due to lengthy sampling, the PDA has a large amount of data, which causes the virtual memory of the operating system to overflow. The database program is actively terminated by the system, causing errors.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Increase the physical memory of the computer, or set the maximum and minimum operating system virtual memory to four times the physical memory capacity.
2. To release memory, restart the computer when the system is idle.
