In Empower, the wrong injection volume is reported in report method - WKB204770

SYMPTOMS

• The injection volume displayed in report method is not the one saved in the method version
• Area matched values expected for 20-μL injection, but report method shows 10 μL for injection volume

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3
• Injection volume
• Report method

CAUSE

Due to the method version and the full loop volume used:

1. Sample set method was copied into the project as a multi-version copy. Version 1 was copied in as the current version, and previous versions were copied in as removed versions.
2. The user opened the sample set method by name in Run Samples. This opened the current version of the sample set method version 1 because the method was not modified in Run Samples before the user clicked the Run button The sample set is acquired with the opened sample set method, version 1. Therefore, the injection volume of 10 μL (not 20 μL as in method) was not saved.

The area did not match the 10 μL injection volume because a full loop of 20 μL is installed and full loop mode is selected in the Instrument method. Using a full loop mode will override the injection volume.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Be sure to save the method before running sample set, or change latest version as current method version to ensure that the correct injection volume is reported.
