ANSWER

Cold Backup: This is a cold (offline) backup of an Empower database. The following database files are backed up:                                              

Datafiles, Control files, Online redo log files, Offline redo log files (2 copies), Password and Initialization files. It also backs up raw data files from projects as specified in the Empower database.

Hot Backup: This is a hot (online) backup of an Empower database. The following database files are backed up:                                             

Datafiles, Control files, Online redo log files, Offline redo log files (2 copies), Password and Initialization files. It also backs up all project raw data files from the locations specified in the Empower database.
