How to configure Empower Waters Database Manager to run using a domain account - WKB18864
OBJECTIVE or GOAL
Configure Waters Database Manager (WDM) in Empower to run using a domain service account instead of the local user "oraclejobs".
ENVIRONMENT
- Empower
- WDM v1.5 and higher
PROCEDURE
1. In WDM, navigate to Administration > Application Configuration.
2. Change the OS JOB USER to the desired domain account.
3. Change the OS JOB PASSWORD to the password of the desired domain account.
4. In Local Users and Groups, add the domain account to each of the local groups where the user oraclejobs exists.
5. In Active Directory, set the password of the desired domain account to never expire.
6. Make sure to add this domain service account to the raw data file share permissions if the raw data server is separate.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The domain service account will be required if the customer has a separate raw data server and wants to include the raw data/extended data in the WDM backup.
It may also work to add a local oraclejobs user on the raw data server with the same credentials as the local oraclejobs on the database server. You may need to only specify the OS Job User as oraclejobs without a hostname or preceeding slash.
