Empower Blank Subtraction does not work for multiple sample sets or process-only sample sets - WKB18343

SYMPTOMS

• When using multiple sample sets for blank subtraction or creating a process-only sample set, blank subtraction from the second sample set does not work

CAUSE

Blank Subtraction does not work properly for acquired sample sets or process-only sample sets when a blank's label has been modified.
When using Blank Subtraction, Empower uses the blank's original label. Therefore, if you add, modify, or delete a label after an injection is acquired, Empower will not use it for blank subtraction.

This issue has been opened as defect PCS 54662, CRI-1463

FIX or WORKAROUND

Ensure that the blank is labeled before acquisition.

This issue was fixed/resolved for Empower 3.8.0  and newer as reported in the release notes:

INFEMP-7198 (CRI-1463)
Previously, blank subtraction did not work properly in process-only and acquired sample sets if the user modified the blank label or if the injection was placed on a different line in the process-only sample set. Now, this is fixed. Also reported as PCS 54662.
