Agilent GC 6890 sample set stops after first injection using Empower - WKB15706

SYMPTOMS

• After upgrading ICS driver for GC 6850 to 1.40, sample set stops after first injection, and cannot make multi-vial injections
• The first movement to V1 works and injects, but movement to V2 fails
• Error message: "GC setup failed, Instrument Failure, Inlet: Invalid Command"

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower
• Agilent GC 6890
• Agilent 6850 Instrument Control Software Version 1.40

CAUSE

 See PCS 55181.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Upgrade to firmware version A.06.02 minimum.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

For Agilent GC 6890 with RS-232 control, recommend to upgrade to firmware version A.03.07.  This has not been confirmed to workaround this issue, but suspect it will.
