What do the Peak/Noise Spectra and Noise Spectrum messages mean in Empower? - WKB13931

Article number: 13931

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower 3

ANSWER

Insufficient Peak Spectra—not enough data points to calculate peak purity
Insufficient Noise Spectra—not enough data points in the Noise Interval Time
Invalid Noise Spectrum—noise spectrum is outside the time collected range

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

See the Help guide for information about Insufficient Peak Spectra.

Note: If the noise interval contains fewer than 12 spectra, Empower software does not calculate a Match Angle or a Purity Angle, and an "Insufficient Noise Spectra" message appears in the message center. Ensure that the noise interval corresponds to two to four peak widths, where peak width is the width at half-height of the narrowest peak.
