PDF files saved from the Empower 3 Preview screen cannot be opened due to an error - WKB121067

SYMPTOMS

• PDF files saved from the Preview screen cannot be opened due to the following error:
  "Could not open <file name> because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged"

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 3471-J FR2 Hotfix1

CAUSE

Waters PDF generator defect

FIX or WORKAROUND

Remove and reinstall the Waters PDF generator.
Procedure:

1. Remove Waters PDF generator from the Windows Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers page.
2. Click C:\Empower\Bin\ConfigpdfDriver.

The command runs automatically and installation ensues.
