Chromatograms not processed - WKB118397

Article number: 118397

SYMPTOMS

  • Chromatograms of completed injections are not being processed
  • Manually saving the processed chromatograms does not work
  • "Oracle Error ORA-12899: value too large for column "W_FP_022", "RESULT", "SNBLANKCHANIDS$" (actual: 540, maximum:250)" error message appears in the message center

ENVIRONMENT

  • Empower 3

CAUSE

  1. This issue is related to the injections that were selected as "blanks" in the "sample set" when the "Use noise centered on peak region in blank injection" option is selected on the Suitability tab in the processing method.
  2. All the channel IDs of the injections before the processed chromatogram, selected as "blanks" in the "sample set", will be saved into the "s/n blank channel ids" tab in the results of the processed chromatogram.
  3. If too many injections in the sample set were selected as blanks, the channel IDs might exceed the allowable limit of 250.
  4. The processed chromatogram will not be saved when the channel IDs in "s/n blank channel ids" have exceeded the allowable limit.

Currently, there are 2 scenarios where an issue like this could occur:

  1. Accidentally creating "injections" as "blanks" when performing "insert rows" in the sample set.
  2. The "sample set" contains too many "blanks" injections, assuming that these "blanks" are all actual blank injections.

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Open the sample set > Alter samples.
  2. Clear the "blank" selections on the injections that are not actual blanks.
  3. Save the sample set.
  4. Process the chromatograms.

or

  1. Create a sample set with fewer "blanks" in it.
