Cannot change injection volume on Agilent 6890 GC after Empower upgrade - WKB114990

SYMPTOMS

• After Empower upgrade, cannot change injection volume on 6890 GC to 1.5 µL with 10-µL syringe

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Feature Release 5
• ICF 3.1.0.0
• Agilent 6890 GC

CAUSE

The ICF upgrade loses the ability to change injection volume, per the Agilent guide. A 5-µL syringe is necessary for an injection volume of 1.5 µL, whereas previously a 10-µL syringe could inject 1.5 µL.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Configure a 5-µL syringe on the GC.
