Fatal error message in Empower 3 when attempting to add PC into internal network - WKB111557

SYMPTOMS

• Empower works fine when not connected to company's internal network
• Hitting Configure System, Run Samples, or Browse Project brings fatal error when the Ethernet cable is plugged in for the internal network

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Personal

CAUSE

Unknown

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Go to the Empower file folder > Oracle > Oracle12cClient > network-admin.
2. Open tnsnames.ora with Notepad.
3. Change computername after Host = to localhost  (change the part in Blue in the picture to localhost).
