SYMPTOMS

• Empower project backup fails with "The export spawn process failed for project..."
• EXP-00091: Exporting questionable statistics error messages are present in the Empower Backup Project Wizard window

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 2
• Empower 3

CAUSE

An incorrect character set is defined in the registry for the string value NLS_LANG on the Empower node from which the backups are being executed. The default Empower data value for the string value NLS_LANG is AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Investigate why the value has changed.
2. Edit the string value NLS_LANG and specify the expected Empower default value of AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8ISO8859P1.
3. Attempt to back up the project again.
