Empower 3 SQD2 error: "Unhandled exception" when launching ACQUITY console - WKB107084

SYMPTOMS

• "Unhandled Exception" error window appears when ACQUITY console is launched from the Run Samples window in Empower
• Details show: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80004005): Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component
  
  

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Enterprise
• Waters Driver Pack 2019 R2
• SQD2

CAUSE

The Windows decimal symbol was fixed to coma (,) instead of dot (.).

FIX or WORKAROUND

Change regional settings for the Windows user account (see WKB83940).
You must use the dot (.) as decimal point.
