• Empower 3 FR2 (no issue in Empower 3 FR2 SR2 H2)

FIX or WORKAROUND

Certain fields on Column tab of instrument method are not updated until a Setup. It is especially a problem only on settings that maintain an unavailable ("grayed out") Save button after edition. If after edition the save button is available, as with Description or Serial number, then it changes immediately. Otherwise, you need to apply via Setup or Monitor. 

1. Open Run Samples with 6850 system.
2. Edit a new or existing instrument method. 
3. Make changes on the Column tab such as length, diameter, film thickness, or gas type. You will note that you need to click on another tab to be able to click on Save, because the Save button is unavailable. Click Save on the instrument method and close the instrument method editor window. 
4. Click Setup or Monitor. 
5. Wait for at least one minute. 
6. Edit the same instrument method and it will now be the new settings. You can also confirm by going to the column configuration on the gameboy; this will also be changed accordingly. You can also confirm by going back to the project and, on the Methods tab, open the instrument method and/or select preview/publisher. You will see the updated method. 

If you do not click Setup or Monitor, certain changes are not effected.
