ANSWER

For nonsterile filters, Pall does not give a shelf life because the plastic materials of construction have essentially indefinite shelf life when stored dry under ambient conditions.

In contrast, filters that have been presterilized by gamma irradiation have specified shelf life claims because of the potential for gamma irradiation to reduce shelf life. However, Pall recognizes that our customers require warehouse and inventory controls. In such circumstances, where other specifications do not exist, we recommend a five-year shelf life for nonsterile filter cartridges and capsules stored in original packaging under ambient conditions.

Storage conditions:

To achieve satisfactory performance, the following storage conditions are recommended:
1. Store at a temperature between 5 °C and 30 °C in dry conditions.
2. Do not expose to direct sunlight, radiation, or outside weather conditions.
3. Store in original shipping bag and boxing.
4. Exercise care during handling to avoid physical damage. Ensure that the shipping bag and any seals are intact prior to use. Plastics can be damaged if roughly handled, particularly at subzero temperatures. Avoid thermal shock by not raising the temperature from subzero too quickly.
5. Inspection and, where appropriate, integrity testing is recommended prior to use.
