When backflushing an ACQUITY UPLC BEH Amide column:

• Disconnect the guard column if you are using one. 
• Disconnect the column and install it in the reverse direction. 
• Do not connect the column to your detector.
• Flow to waste.
• Set the flow rate to 0.1 mL/min for 2.1-mm ID columns or 0.3 mL/min for 3.0-mm ID columns.
