What are the causes of low plate count exhibited by a column? - WKB54938
Article number: 54938
ENVIRONMENT
- Column plate count
- ACQUITY UPLC
- HPLC
- GPC
ANSWER
The column plate count is a reflection of both the column and the system working together. Low plate count can be caused by the following:
- The ferrule and compression screw not seated properly in the column hex nut
- Too much bandspread in the system for the volume of the column
