Does Waters have a column equivalent to the Restek Raptor Biphenyl columns? - WKB119929

Article number: 119929

ENVIRONMENT

  • CORTECS columns

ANSWER

No

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The Restek Raptor Biphenyl columns are packed with solid-core (superficially porous) silica-based particles that have a biphenyl ligand. The biphenyl group is chemically bonded to the particle with no alkyl (carbon) chain, according to Restek literature.

Waters does not manufacture biphenyl stationary phases.

Waters offers CORTECS solid-core (superficially porous) silica-based particles. CORTECS Phenyl columns contain a single phenyl group chemically bonded to the particle surface with a C6 alkyl (carbon) chain. Therefore, the selectivity of CORTECS Phenyl columns is not the same as a biphenyl packing.

Waters also offers other phenyl packings, but they are not biphenyl packings.
