Do we see cysteine monomer when we derivatize with AccQ•Tag reagent? - WKB66312

Article number: 66312

ENVIRONMENT

  • Amino acid derivatization
  • AccQ•Tag
  • AccQ•Tag Ultra
  • AccQ•Fluor
  • Cysteine

ANSWER

No

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Cysteine in solution with presence of oxygen will react with itself to form the dimer cystine at the free sulfhydryl group. Cysteine will also react to form a dimer at high pH.

AccQ•Tag derivatization happens at high pH.

For additional information, see the AccQTag Ultra Derivatization Kit Care and Use Manual and the AccQ•Fluor Reagent Kit Care and Use Manual.
