Can I lyophilize reconstituted, unused RapiGest SF to prolong its shelf life? - WKB194057

Article number: 194057

ENVIRONMENT

  • RapiGest SF

ANSWER

No, this is not recommended.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Although Waters has not tried this, it is hypothesized that as the RapiGest dries out in the buffer, some volatile buffer will be lost, which will drop the pH of the solution and start the hydrolysis process of RapiGest.

An alternative to consider: Assess the performance changes of the reconstituted RapiGest SF when fresh and at 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, however long you want to keep it beyond the recommendation in the care and use manual. Assess the performance stability based on the particular protein digest results from which you want to use the older, reconstituted reagent.
