Is there a way to completely remove intact RapiGest SF from a pH 7 sample, after protein denaturation? - WKB123443
Article number: 123443
ENVIRONMENT
- RapiGest SF
- Solubilization Factor (SF)
ANSWER
There are two ways to remove RapiGest SF:
- Acid degradation under low pH
- Molecular weight cutoff filter or gel filtration tips
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Acid degradation under low pH:
- The pellet is visible when protein is very diluted.
- Even if there is a pellet, it is hard to see a tiny colorless pellet on a transparent Eppendorf tube.
- MW cutoff spin column or gel filtration tips:
- To remove low-MW species.
- Works for RapiGest SF removal.
- Other scientists have used gel filtration tips to remove low-MW species.
