Mounting the µMALDI source

To mount the µMALDI source:

1. Vent the instrument.
2. Switch off the electronics.

WARNING: To avoid burn injury, wait at least 30 minutes for the ion block to cool before removing it.

3. Remove the ion block.
4. Fit the µMALDI mounting flange to the instrument pumping block.
5. Raise the µMALDI source and align it with the mounting flange.
6. Push the µMALDI source onto the locating dowels.
7. Clamp the µMALDI source into position.
8. Connect all cables.
9. Switch on the electronics.
10. Pump down the instrument.
