Connecting the nitrogen gas supply

Required materials

  • Chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves
  • 6-mm PTFE tubing (included in the SELECT SERIES MRT installation kit)
  • Nitrogen regulator (not supplied)

To connect the nitrogen gas supply

  1. Connect one free end of the 6-mm PTFE tubing to the API gas port on the rear of the instrument.

Requirement: Do not cut the 6-mm (1/4-inch) PTFE tubing to size. Use the entire 5-m (16-ft) length supplied.

  1. Attach a nitrogen regulator to the nitrogen supply.

Requirement: The nitrogen must be dry and oil-free with a purity of at least 95%.

  1. Connect the free end of the 6-mm PTFE tubing to the nitrogen regulator.
  2. Set the nitrogen regulator to 6.5 to 7.0 bar (94 to 102 psi).
  3. Ensure that there are no gas leaks at any of the nitrogen gas supply fittings.
