Shifted elution times with Wyatt Eclipse - WKB345150

SYMPTOMS

• Sample peak shifts to later elution times with fixed height channels

ENVIRONMENT

• Eclipse (NEON)

CAUSE

The channel height increased due to an aged O-ring in the top block.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Inspect the assembled channel and verify that the top and bottom blocks are correctly aligned and that there is no gap between them. If you can see a small gap, proceed.
   
2. Carefully disassemble the channel according to the standard service procedure.
3. Inspect the top block O-ring protrusion using a straight ruler at different positions:

• Place the ruler across the sealing surface of the top block.
• Ensure that the ruler rests flat on both sides of the top block. 
• Determine whether the O-ring protrudes above the sealing surface. 
• Applying slight pressure to achieve full contact is acceptable. If the ruler still cannot rest flat due to O-ring protrusion, replace the O-ring.
