P-50A co-solvent pump does not deliver solvent at the set flow rate - WKB5884

SYMPTOMS

• Waters P-50A co-solvent pump does not deliver solvent at the set flow rate
• Set flow rate = 10 mL/min; measured flow rate = 2 mL/min
• No flow from P50X
• Solvent and tube are normal
• RPM of the pump is in range

ENVIRONMENT

• Waters P-50A co-solvent pump
• Thar P-50A co-solvent pump
• SFE Bio-Botanical Extraction System
• SFC 80

CAUSE

The check valves are worn or have failed and need replacement.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Inspect to see if the check valves are blocked; try to ultrasonic them.
2. If step 1 has no effect, order four new check valves (part 700006600 for 1).
3. Replace the check valves. 
4. Verify that the issue is resolved.
