How to replace the sample probe on a 2767 Sample Manager - WKB300878
OBJECTIVE or GOAL
Replace the sample probe on a 2767 Sample Manager.
ENVIRONMENT
- 2767 Sample Manager
PROCEDURE
To replace the probe (part 700001387):
1. From the Inlet Editor, select Waters 2767 > Reference Position. The Position Adjust dialog box appears.
2. Clear the Reference Calibrated check box. When this check box is cleared, the sample probe will not move in the Z direction. This prevents accidentally damaging the probe before it is calibrated.
3. Power-off the 2767 Sample Manager.
4. Manually lower the Z drive shaft to access the sample probe.
5. Remove the insulation block and sample probe assembly using a 2.0-mm hex wrench.
6. Slide the tube sleeve up over the tube, using Emery paper if necessary.
7. Remove the probe clamp in the insulation block using a 1.5-mm hex wrench.
8. Remove the heavy tubing and pull the sample probe down to release it from the clamp.
9. While holding the sample probe, remove the tubing from the top and side of the probe.
10. Reinstall tubing on the new sample probe.
11. Reposition the sample probe in the probe clamp.
12. Push upward until the sample probe seats into position.
13. Align the probe clamp and tighten using the hex wrench (1.5 mm).
14. Slide the tube sleeve down to secure the joint at the top of the sample probe.
15. Secure the insulation block and sample probe assembly.
16. Power-on the 2767 Sample Manager.
17. From the Inlet Editor, select Waters 2767 > Reference Position to calibrate the sample probe.
Tip: After calibrating the sample probe, select Reference Calibrated to allow the sample probe to move in the Z direction.
