SFC350 injection module has large air bubbles in syringe - WKB14398

Article number: 14398

SYMPTOMS

  • Injection module syringe contains large air bubbles while drawing sample
  • The bubbles are not observed during priming
  • Liquid accumulates in the waste bottle attached to the lower injection valve

ENVIRONMENT

  • SFC350 Injection Module
  • ChromScope

CAUSE

The waste bottle connected to the bottom injection valve can siphon the liquid out of the sample loop. When the next injection begins, the sample loop contains air that can be drawn into the syringe.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Lift the waste bottle onto the cart next to the injection module.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Be careful when lifting the bottle off the ground. The stainless still tubing connected to the bottle must be bent around the injection module to allow the bottle to sit on the cart.
