Article number: 94995

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Restart a quadrupole MS system after a full shutdown.

ENVIRONMENT

  • Xevo TQD
  • TQ Detector
  • SQ Detector
  • SQ Detector 2
  • Xevo TQ-S micro
  • ACQUITY QDa Detector
  • MassLynx

PROCEDURE

  1. Restart the workstation.
  2. Power-on all LC components (turning on the sample manager first) and include any external network hub (if applicable).
  3. Press the power button on the MS.
  4. Wait a suitable amount of time for communication to be established to the acquisition workstation.
  5. Start the MassLynx software and confirm that it communicates with MS and LC components.
  6. Open the MS Tune page and start the vacuum system (choose Pump from the Vacuum pull-down menu.)
  7. Ensure that proper vacuum is established.
  8. Turn on gas flows, and then put the instrument in Operate mode.
  9. Confirm operation of the MS either via LCMS injection or by infusing a known solution through the fluidics.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Note, for the QDa detector, the vacuum system will start upon powering on the unit (Step 6). The API Gas will turn on when the QDa is put into Operate (Step 8). QDa has no fluidics system (Step 9)
