"Detector missing instrument configuration settings" error message in the ACQUITY MS Console for a Xevo TQ-S micro - WKB91820

SYMPTOMS

• "Detector missing instrument configuration settings" error message
• Resolution and Mass Scale setting on Engineers tab are all 512 or 2048
• Resolve button on IntelliStart page in ACQUITY MS Console is dimmed (unavailable)

ENVIRONMENT

• Xevo TQ-S micro

CAUSE

Mass Scale and Resolution settings have reset to default values.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. From the MassLynx main page, go to File > Open Data File.
2. Select a .raw file that was acquired when the system was last working correctly (do not select OPEN).
3. Click on the Experiment button at the bottom for the Data Browser windows to open the Experimental Record.
4. Scroll down the file and locate the Engineer Settings section.
5. Take note of the values for each of the settings.
6. Open the tune page.
7. Go to the Engineer Settings.
8. Manually specify the values from the Experimental Record into the Engineers settings (must hit Enter for value to be excepted).
9. When all values are specified and the presence of a signal is confirmed, close the Engineer settings.
