OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Ballast the Edwards scroll pumps.

ENVIRONMENT

• Edwards XDS 35i
• Edwards XDS 46i
• Edwards XDS 100B

PROCEDURE

1. Locate the gas ballast valve, which is on the top of the pump, above the exhaust hose.
2. Rotate the gas ballast valve to the II position. (Note: the three positions are marked 0, I, and II.)
3. Leave the gas ballast valve in the II position for 20 to 30 minutes.
4. Rotate the gas ballast valve to the 0 position.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

You should ballast scroll pumps at least once per week.
