SYMPTOMS

• Ion Mode drop-down is dimmed (unavailable) on the tune page
• Cannot change ion modes

ENVIRONMENT

• SQ Detector 2
• Empower 3

CAUSE

Unknown

FIX or WORKAROUND

Reset the EPC on the SQ Detector 2.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Follow the steps below:

1) Close all Empower windows.

2) Open Waters DHCP Server.

3) Remove each component from Waters DHCP by highlighting and clicking the remove button.

(Waters DHCP server is located in C:\Empower\Instruments\Waters DHCP Server Configuration.exe.

4) Power-off all of the LC components when they are removed from Waters DHCP.

5) Turn on all of the LC components and verify that each component populates in Waters DHCP.

6) Reset the EPC on the SQ Detector 2.

7) Confirm that the SQ Detector 2 is present in Waters DHCP after the EPC reset is complete.

8) Open the tune page and verify that it is fully functional.
