Constant or Intermittent communication and dropouts caused by faulty EPC - WKB4863

SYMPTOMS
- Intermittent communication with MS or no communicaions at all
- Random dropouts or system unresponsiveness seen while idle, in Standby, or during acquisitions
Errors seen may include any the following at different times:
- Cannot communicate to EPC via Hyperterminal
- Cannot ping IP address of EPC
- NetEvaluator shows red / no connection to the MS, but the inlets are okay
- LED light on EPC is red
- Error message: "Probe not connected"
- On board diagnostic page, the RF Barrier PCB is not visible
- Error "lost connection to embedded PC" and must perform a full reboot of PC and MS

CAUSE
Faulty EPC
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Replace the EPC
- Check which MassLynx version supports the new EPC. (Select your instrument from this article WKB554)
