No ion beam when acquiring from the sample list using Xevo G2-XS - WKB3367
Article number: 3367
SYMPTOMS
- There is no beam when acquiring from the sample list in centroid mode (0 counts in the chromatogram window and on the tune page)
- There is no beam on the tune page when in centroid mode
ENVIRONMENT
- MassLynx 4.1
- Xevo G2-XS
CAUSE
The Veff is erroneously set to 1000.
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Switch to one of the other resolution modes (for example, if in Sensitivity mode, switch to Resolution mode).
- Enable the system view on the tune page. Go to the setup drop-down menu and select system view. The password is access.
- Go to the system drop-down menu and select Acquisition Settings. Write down or copy the Veff settings if they are not 1000.
- Switch back to resolution mode with no beam and adjust the Veff to a real value (what was copied from the other resolution mode or what is in the example shown below) and select Update.
- The Veff may need to be updated to a more accurate value. Zoom in on the lockmass peak. If it is off by more than 0.1, go back to the Acquisition settings and select Calculate and set Veff. Type in the correct mass for the reference Mass (for example, 556.28 for Leucine Enkephalin or 785.84 for Glu Fibrinopeptide B). Type in the observed mass for the lockmass as seen on the tune page to two decimal places. Click Calculate and then click Update.
- Confirm that the mass is in the correct position and present when in centroid mode.
