"MS Error" in the ACQUITY MS Console for a Xevo TQ-MS - WKB3114

SYMPTOMS

• System Status is green
• Error message "MS Error"
• Cannot turn on API gas but can turn on collision gas

ENVIRONMENT

• Xevo TQ-MS
• MassLynx 4.1

CAUSE

Xevo TQ-MS has only partial communications with the MassLynx PC.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Close MassLynx.
2. Restart the MassLynx PC. Log in to Windows but do not start MassLynx.
3. Restart the embedded computer (EPC) by pushing the reset button on the front of instrument, inside the small hole.
4. Wait approximately three minutes for the EPC to restart.
5. Open MassLynx and the MS Console.
