No communication with either the ACQUITY or the MS in MassLynx - WKB27332

SYMPTOMS
- No communications with the LC or the MS
- Cannot ping the instrument network card
- Firewall is off
- Instrument LAN is set up correctly
- No IP conflicts

CAUSE
The instrument network card is faulty.
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Either replace the instrument LAN or use the other network port on the PC.
- Configure the new network port at Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center.
- Right-click on the new LAN and rename it: Instrument LAN
- Right-click on the Instrument LAN icon and select Properties.
- Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPV4), and then select the Properties button.
- Select "Use the following IP address".
- For the IP address, set 192.168.0.1; for the subnet, select 255.255.255.0.
- Select "Use the following DNS server addresses".
- Leave the Preferred and Alternate DNS servers blank.
- Select the Advanced button and, on the WINS tab, select Disable NetBios over TCP/IP, and then select OK.
- Configure the DHCP server as described in this article.
- After the PC reboot, log in to Windows.
- Power cycle the ACQUITY.
- Reset the MS using PEEK tubing on the reset button or by telnet EPC and reboot.
- Wait five minutes before starting MassLynx.
