Capillary, phosphor, and dynode voltages all read near zero kilovolts when in Operate using Xevo TQD and Xevo TQ-S micro- WKB272201
Article number: 272201
SYMPTOMS
- Capillary voltage readback is 0.9 kV for a setting of 3 kV
- Gases are on and system is in Operate
- Rebooting the EPC does not resolve
- FOUND: phosphor and dynode voltages read back 0.2 kV on the diagnostic tab of the tune page
ENVIRONMENT
- Xevo TQ-S micro
- Xevo TQD
- MassLynx
CAUSE
Unknown electronics glitch
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Put the Xevo TQ-S micro in Standby
- From the MS tune page, vent the Xevo TQ-S micro (Vacuum > Vent).
- When the vacuum system stops, close MassLynx, power-off the Xevo TQ-S micro, and disconnect the power cord from the back of the instrument.
- Leave system off for about 1 minute.
- Plug the power cable back in and power-on the Xevo TQ-S micro. Wait for the instrument to initialize (takes about 2 to 3 minutes).
- Open MassLynx. Verify communications via the Not Scanning MS status at the bottom of the sample list page.
- Open the Tune page and start the vacuum system (Vacuum > Pump).
- When turbo speed reaches 100%, turn on the API and Col gases and put the system into Operate.
- Verify that capillary, phosphor, and dynode voltages now read back their expected values.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Reseating the connections of dynode and capillary while powered-off could help.
