ENVIRONMENT
- MassLynx
- MassLynx Security
CAUSE
The Windows folder permissions are such that one user cannot see another user's files.
FIX or WORKAROUND
The IT group must correct the Windows folder permissions so that a MassLynx user can access the files when the MassLynx user and the Windows user are not the same.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
In a MassLynx Security environment, it is recommended that a generic user account be created on the MassLynx workstations connected to the instruments that has the same file permissions as the MassLynx users. This allows Windows to be launched by any of the users in the lab while allowing for MassLynx users to log in and out of the application as needed.
