QDa beam check failure (latched cone voltage) - WKB206113

Article number: 206113

SYMPTOMS

  • QDa beam check failure

ENVIRONMENT

  • ACQUITY QDa Mass Detector

CAUSE

Latched cone voltage

Any voltage not performing correctly can cause a lack of calibrant beam, resulting in beam check failure.

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Open the ACQUITY console and enable service mode.
  2. Access the QDa tune page.
  3. Confirm that all voltages are reading back correctly.
  4. A latched cone voltage can often be corrected by specifying a new cone voltage, switching polarity, or rebooting the QDa.
  5. When all voltages are reading back correctly, check the beam using calibrant and rerun resolution and calibration setup.
