OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Replace the outer source heaters on the AutoSpec.

PROCEDURE

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Recommendation: Wear gloves that have been washed with pure water.
• Position the upper heater loop counterclockwise, so upon tightening the heater it is not dragged out of position.
• Before returning the outer source assembly into the instrument, measure the heater resistances (1 or 2 Ohms expected) and the resistance between the outer source block and the Focus 1 lens (open circuit expected).
