ANSWER

The glass slide is held in place with a spring clip, located at the top of the MALDI plate. This spring may require adjusting to apply enough pressure to the microscope slide.

Double-sided tape can be used between the slide and the plate (it does not need to be conductive). Do not apply the tape so that it covers the entire slide; use two small rectangles (~10 mm x 5 mm) on the left- and right-hand sides of the glass slide. If possible, avoid placing tape behind the tissue section.
