ACQUITY Arc system reports instrument failure when configured with a CM-30S column heater - WKB99300

SYMPTOMS

• ACQUITY Arc system was upgraded from the originally configured CH/C column heater to a CM-30S column heater
• When column 7 and column 8 are set in the instrument method, the instrument reports "instrument failure" during injection and instrument communication fails
• The LAC/E must be restarted to rebuild the connection

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY Arc 
• CM-30S

CAUSE

Incompatible column heater driver

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Uninstall all the existing driver packs on LAC/E.
2. Install ACQUITY CM 1.61 in the UPC2 ACQUITY 2014 Driver Pack.
3. Install other drivers in the latest driver pack (2019R1), and choose not to upgrade the column heater driver during the installation process.
