SYMPTOMS

• Pump H/W Homing Error (3) occurs during initialization
• Removing pump head brings successful initialization of motor

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Bio
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class

CAUSE

Restriction of accumulator pump head movement due to resistance from back pressure or physical restriction

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Remove the pump head and confirm free travel.
2. Clean the plunger assembly, head, and pump springs to remove buildup of precipitates.
3. Reinitialize the instrument to verify that the issue is resolved.
