Poor reproducibility on H-Class SM-FTN - WKB93273

SYMPTOMS

• High %RSD on a customer method.
• All system diagnostic tests pass, including Needle Seal Readiness test.

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Bio
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class PLUS
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class PLUS Bio

CAUSE

Leak around needle and needle seat causing high %RSD.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace needle, needle seat, and needle guide.
2. Part numbers (Needle, 15uL SS w/Guide and Seat)
   • H-Class-700005215
   • H-Class Bio-700005421
   • H-Class Plus-700011628
   • H-Class Bio Plus-700011658
3. Characterize the needle z axis.
4. Characterize the needle seal.
5. Perform the Needle Seal Readiness test.
