What is the difference between a standard ACQUITY analytical flow cell and a low-dispersion flow cell? - WKB93153

Article number: 93153

ENVIRONMENT

  • ACQUITY UPLC Tunable UV Detector
  • ACQUITY UPLC PDA Detector
  • ACQUITY UPLC PDA eλ Detector

ANSWER

The illuminated volume, path length, and cell volume are identical. The difference is that the internal PEEK outlet tube is .0025 ID in the low-dispersion cell and 005 ID in the standard cell. With this information in mind, you must be aware of back pressure. You will not be able to run the flow rate as high when using a low-dispersion cell. Low-dispersion cells are used when system dispersion is of utmost concern.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

There is no difference when it comes to our SQT testing. A 10-mm analytical test solutions kit is used.
