SYMPTOMS

• The mobile phase/solvent in the bottle runs out or decreases quickly even though it’s not flowing

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class

CAUSE

GPV (gradient proportioning valve) inlet/outlet tubing is loose and leaking

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Tighten the screws of each tube on the gradient profiling valve (the 15 in the figure below).
   

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If the leak is coming from the drip tray indicating the leak is internal, replace the GPV (pt # 700005161) for the line loosing mobile phase.
