Intermittent overpressure during injection with 1525 Micro and 2777 - WKB86438

SYMPTOMS

• System gives overpressure error after an injection

ENVIRONMENT

• 1525 Micro Binary HPLC Pump
• 2777 Sample Manager

CAUSE

Particles are introduced into the injector valve during an injection, which causes the valve to block.

The most common cause of particle introduction is use of foil to cover sample plates. A better solution would be to use pre-slit PTFE/silica plate mats.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Flush all the valve ports with the LC pump while switching the valve position to clear the blockage.
2. If the rotor seal has been damaged, this will need to be replaced as well.
