2998 baseline noise at 520 nm - Lamp Energy Low warning - WKB85204

SYMPTOMS

Excessive noise in baseline at 520 nm.

ENVIRONMENT

• Mobile Phase A - 10% Formic Acid in H2O - Mobile Phase B-10%FA in 25%ACN 25%MeOH 50%H2O

CAUSE

Contaminated flow cell.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Clean cell by flushing the system with 25% MeOH, ACN, IPA, H2O with .1% FA. Flush the system for about two hours at a flow rate of .5ml/min, and then flush with 100% H2O for one hour.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The FA at 10% absorbs light below 250 nm. This causes "Lamp Energy Low" warnings.
